This month's Road Trip Recommendation is Austin, Texas. The state capitol is a city known as a creative haven for artists, musicians and writers. A great place to witness this is 6th Street: during the day, shops, restaurants and historic buildings are the main attraction. At night, 6th Street comes alive with live music, shows and special events. Other attractions include St. Mary’s Cathedral, the University of Texas campus or the Zilker Botanical Garden. Austin also has a great park system, with numerous biking/hiking trails and a spring-fed swimming pool.

The focus of the world will be on our next Road Trip Recommendation, as the Super Bowl comes back to New Orleans. A great city loaded with food, music, history and culture, New Orleans is best known for Mardi Gras, but it’s a fun trip any time of the year. Explore the beautiful French quarter, with its architecture, galleries, museums and restaurants, visit the Cabildo in historic Jackson Square where the Louisiana Purchase was signed, or even take a nighttime tour through an historic graveyard. Throw in all kinds of great music and festivals year-round, and it’s certain you’ll run out of time before you run out of fun things to do.

Road Trip Recommendation: Memphis, Tennessee. The largest city in the state, Memphis is full of things to see: for live music – especially the blues – Beale Street is the place to be; visit Overton Square in midtown for eating, shopping and entertainment; and take a tour of Graceland. You can also take a road trip south on Highway 61 – the Blues Highway – along the Mississippi river. Memphis is also famous for barbecue: with almost 100 restaurants in the city there is no shortage of great food available. With its rich history and delicious southern-style cooking, you’ll always have something to experience.
Roll out the red carpet..... or in this case a paved highway. It's time to announce the winners of our $1,000 Tire Rack gift cards.

The General Lee made its debut on this date in 1979. One of television's coolest cars ever, it was practically the star of the show. What were some of your favorites? The Trans Am from Knight Rider? Don Johnson's Ferrari in Miami Vice? The A-Team van?
Road Trip Recommendation: The Pacific Coast Highway. One of the most scenic roads in the country. Along this family-friendly trip you'll see historic towns, amusement parks and aquariums. There are also opportunities to camp, hike and explore the redwoods if that is more your style. Beaches and the ocean are easily accessible along the way where you’ll see everything from surfers to sea lions. Make sure to bring your camera and to take your time, as a road doesn't get the name “America's Most Beautiful Drive” by accident…
Road Trip Recommendation: New England. The explosion of brightly colored leaves makes this area a great place to visit at this time of year. The best leaf viewing occurs through mid-October, but with bed and breakfasts, historic locations all around and numerous small towns to explore, you can always find something to enjoy.
The 2012 Olympics start tonight! What's your favorite Summer Olympics sport? We have to say, we're partial to synchronized swimming.
On this day in 1926 actor Fred Gwynne aka "Herman Munster" was born. His birthday got us to thinking about the Munster Koach.... Anyone remember Grandpa's coffin/dragster called Drag-U-La? How about the Monkeemobile, or maybe the Green Hornet's Black Beauty? Now those were some cool cars! Do you have a favorite movie or TV car that we didn't mention?
The Stanley cup finals are moving towards the second round, but what a first round it’s been! Three “game 7s” coming up this week! Is your team still alive? Based on what you’ve seen, who do you think will be advancing?
