~ A DRUG POLICY FOR THE 21 CENTURY ~
President Obama's administration is scheduled to release the 2013 blueprint for drug policy.
HIGHLIGHTS include: A greater emphasis on using public health tools to battle addiction and diverting non-violent drug offenders into treatment instead of prisons, and MILLIONS of people in the United States will become eligible in less than a year for treatment for substance abuse under the new health care overhaul.
The Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne admitted in a Facebook post last week that he had been drinking and doing drugs for the past 18 months, but had been sober for 44 days (53 days as of April 24). Sharon is devastated, and stated she won't move back in with him until he has been sober for several months.

Margaret Thatcher, the longest-serving Prime Minister of the UK of the 20th century, & the only woman ever to have held the post passed away today at 87.
In 1986, she initiated a revolutionary needle exchange program which changed the course of the emerging HIV epidemic in the UK. In spite of some vocal opposition, it decided there should be clean needle exchanges for injecting drug users (IDUs) to prevent the spread of HIV.
