Jai SiyaRam!

Tomorrow marks the festival of Ram Navami. We hope that you, your family and your friends enjoy wonderful celebrations and offer our heartfelt greetings that the divine blessings of Lord Rām will be showered in your lives.

On this most auspicious day in 2012, His Holiness Pujyashree Bhupendrabhai Pandya launched the organisation SHYAM with fearless youths with willpowers of steel that have dedicated their lives to preserving, protecting, practicing and promoting Sanatana Dharma. SHYAM was set up on Ramnavami (1 April 2012) with a great dream of creating RamRaaj through Dharma in each and every person's lives so that each and every person in this world reaches the ultimate peak of their potential.

Amidst the celebrations, we want to take a moment to remember what Rām meant to the world. When Rām had to go to the forest, He bowed down to His mother's feet and left for the forest, but the whole of the city of Ayodhya came to embrace Him. When Rām came outside of the palace then as soon as the door of the palace was opened, the Rishi Mahashri Vashishta, who until then had kept his heart fully under control, had his steadiness shaken. Even this Rishi's patience was broken. When Rām placed His feet outside the Palace of Ayodhya then Vashishta put His hand on a pillar and said in the Ramayan that:

Nahi tad bhavitā rāstram
yatra Rāmo na bhupatihi
tad vanam bhavitā rāstram
yatra Rāmoni vatsyati

In a place where Rām is not the king,
that place can never become a kingdom,
but even a jungle can become a kingdom,
if Rām is present there

In a place where Rām is not the king, that place can never be a kingdom or even strive to be a kingdom. Even if there are nice houses in that kingdom and there are thousands of people living there, if Rām is not there then it can never become a kingdom. If Rām is not there then it is not a kingdom and if Rām is there then it is a kingdom. This is the speech of a Rishi filled with Truth; it is not the dialect of a bard said to make it sound nice to a king. If you look at today's times then you will see how true this saying is: "if Rām is not there then it is not a kingdom and if Rām is there then even if it is a jungle, it will become a kingdom". This is because the first reason why a kingdom is created is so that people can live without fear and in peace and happiness. To take it one step further, in each and every one of us there should be a part of Rām. The reason for this is that when we say kingdom then it seems very big and we wonder how it can apply to us because it is about kings. No, it also applies to us. Even in our houses if there are five people then that is our kingdom. ShreeRam said:

Abhayam sarva bhutebhyo
dadāmye tad vratam mama

I will give only fearlessness
to all creatures

If such an atmosphere is created inside a house then there will be happiness. Each and every person in the house will sit there waiting for when the other person in the house will come home. And the more and more such people there are in the house, the more that bliss will be spread and increase in that house. Only then can the house become Rāmrajya (the kingdom of Rām). We are doing it the wrong way round by waiting for Rāmrajya (the kingdom of Rām) to come to Delhi, London or Washington. While there is no Rāmrajya (the kingdom of Rām) in one's house then Rāmrajya (the kingdom of Rām) cannot come in the government. If we go even one step further than this, just like a country can become Rāmrajya (the kingdom of Rām) and just like a family can become Rāmrajya (the kingdom of Rām), in the same way your own life should become Rāmrajya (the kingdom of Rām). How can we do this? There should be abhayatva (fearlessness) in our own lives. When we begin the 16th chapter of the Gita then we will see that ShreeKrushna says that fearlessness is a divine quality:

Abhayam sattva samshuddir
gnyaanayogavyavasthitih

Fearlessness, purity of mind,
wise apportionment of knowledge and concentration

Abhayatva (fearlessness) is the first divine quality. How can we see whether a person is divine or not? There are two qualities: he should first not fear others and second others should not fear him. We already know the meaning of abhayatva (fearlessness) that one is not afraid of others but what if others are afraid of him? Is this is the case then this is very bad and such a person can be called a rākshas (demon). A rākshas (demon) does not fear anyone but others fear him. This is the difference between a divine person and a demonic person, and also between divine nature and demonic nature. A person with a divine nature does not fear others and nobody fears him. Shree Krushna says this that in the Gita in many different ways. In the 12th chapter of the Gita Shree Krushna describes the ideal devotee and uses the word maitrah (friendly) in this description:

Advestaa sarvabhutaanaam
maitrah kurna eva ca

He who has no ill will to any being,
who is friendly and compassionate

An ideal devotee is seen like a friend to everyone. There should be Rāmrajya (the kingdom of Rām) in a kingdom, in a family and also in our lives. Now the steps to take should be such that if there is first Rāmrajya (the kingdom of Rām) comes in our lives and we can understand this then there will be Rāmrajya (the kingdom of Rām) in the family. When there is Rāmrajya (the kingdom of Rām) in the family, then there will be Rāmrajya (the kingdom of Rām) in the country.

We pray that Rāmrajya becomes prevalant in you, your families, your countries and therefore all over the world and that each and every person sees the Rām within to help them fulfil their ultimate peak potential in their lives.

May God bless you all!

With prayers and blessings,

SATKARMA HUMANITARIAN YOUTH AWAKENING MISSION (SHYAM)

"You cannot believe in God until you believe in yourself. He is an atheist who does not believe in himself. The old religions said that he was an atheist who did not believe in God. The new religion says that he is an atheist who does not believe in himself. But it is not selfish faith, because the Vedanta, again, is the doctrine of Oneness. It means faith in all, because you are all". #vivekananda150

Har Har Mahadev! Greetings on the occasion of Maha Shivratri. May Lord Shiva bless all with strength & wisdom. Also, a very Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there. The definition of "birthday" is: the only day in your life when you cried while your mother smiled. A mother is therefore the best gift that God can give to us!

It is time for us all to stand and cheer for the doer, the achiever – the one who recognizes the challenges and does something about it. Dhruv, you have made us all truly proud and it gives a message to all parents: “Instil good values and encourage your children because you have no idea what they are truly capable of.” We are all unique in our own way, that’s what makes us special! It is a proud moment that we wanted to share with you all! Well done & keep it up!
