Benji's Tip of the Week: For online and phone orders specify that the delivery service you use gets a signature when delivering your product to customers. Get copies of these signature for your own records. Your buyer may tell you to have the delivered package left on the porch. Benji's Tip of the Week: Work with a company that understands merchant accounts. Many banks aren’t well equipped to set up merchant accounts, and they will simply refer you to a third party and keep the commission. You may prefer to do your banking with a small, local bank or credit union, but when it comes to processing credit card payments, it pays to got directly to a company that has experience with merchant accounts. You’ll probably save time and money, and you won’t have to worry about inconvenient “surprises” when it really matters.

Benji's Tip of the Week: Always maintain good records, but make sure they are locked away, either through a secure computer database or a vault at your company's location. Keep credit card receipts far away from the public. Make sure consumer data on your computers is password-protected. Also, make sure you shred and eliminate customer data once you no longer you need it.
